Many people do not know about Microniche blogging, while a few set of people are cashing out doing it. So, jump on this train as soon as you can.
Without further ado, let us get to the main topic of this article — Microniche Blogging.
What is a Microniche blog?
A microniche blog, or as some people write it, a micro-niche blog is a web page that you create to focus on a small sub-niche of a broader niche. If that still does not make any sense to you, I will give an illustration.
If you start a blog focusing on rings and write about wedding rings, engagement rings, gold rings, and Diamond rings, you have a niche blog.
However, if you focus on a specific type of ring, for example, “turquoise engagement ring”, you are a micro-niche blogger. Now that you know what a Microniche blog means, what is micro-niche blogging? You probably guessed it. It is the process of creating a blog with a focus on a very narrow keyword, ranking, and monetizing it.
How To Start Micro-niche Blogging
There are several steps involved in setting up and monetizing a microniche website. They include:
- Firstly, Find a profitable keyword
- Check the level of keyword competitiveness
- Build your micro-niche blog
- Optimize your blog for search engines
- Create and optimize your website copy
- Build backlinks to the blog, and
- Lastly, monetize your blog
Now, let us discuss each step, one after the other.
Finding a Profitable Keyword
Finding a profitable keyword is the single and most important step of this process. It involves brainstorming and using some SEO tools to find keywords with earning potentials. The keyword needs to circle around a product or service that people use a lot.
When you are doing keyword research, you are also looking for a keyword with low and moderate keyword difficulty. In summary, you want a keyword that is both profitable and easy to rank in the search engine result pages (SERPs). Furthermore, research more about moderately expensive products and services. You need to make sure they focus on NEEDS, not mere WANTS.
Try to generate a broad or niche keyword idea during your brainstorming session. When you have come up with a keyword idea during your brainstorming session, the keyword you generate can further generate micro-niche keyword ideas with varying degrees of difficulty. In this case, keyword difficulty refers to competitiveness.
If you cannot come up with a product niche keyword by yourself, you can check Amazon.com for popular products. One way to know if the product sells is to look for the “bestseller” tag. Unfortunately, if you are interested in a service-related keyword idea, you have to generate one by yourself. Keep thinking.
At this point, I assume you have found a keyword. I will use “wedding rings”.
Check the Keyword Competitiveness
Following the keyword idea generation, you can process your keyword idea using Keyword Revealer to generate micro-niche ideas.
The keyword tool gives you a keyword difficulty metric and you should aim for scores below 40. It also generates some long-tail keyword ideas for you. If you click the analyze button in front of any of the keywords, you get a detailed analysis of it. You can pick any of these keywords and run with it.
For this guide, I will assume that you picked “rose gold engagement rings”.
To further validate the keyword difficulty, do a Google search to see which sites rank for it. If they are a bunch of Amazon product pages and Social Media accounts, your chances of ranking are very high. The Keyword Revealer too also shows you this when you analyze a keyword.
Build your Micro-niche Blogging Site
I cannot go into details about setting up a blog because that will take another article to explain. What you need to do at this stage is to buy an exact-match domain name with your keywords. In this case, you would buy www.rosegoldengagementrings.com.
Purchase a good hosting package to host your website. You can read this comparison between Hostinger and Bluehost to get some pointers.
Next, install WordPress on your server and set it up the way you want.
Optimize your Blog for Search Engines
Make sure you install fast-loading themes like the Genesis theme to boost your technical SEO. Finally, install these three plugins — WP Smush, W3 Total Cache, and Yoast SEO.
WP Smush reduces image file sizes, improves performance, and boosts your SEO.
W3 Total Cache improves the user experience of your site by increasing server performance and reducing download times.
Yoast SEO improves your WordPress Site SEO. This plugin helps you write better content and have a fully optimized website.

Create and Optimize your Website Copy
Create content that elaborates on the topic of your blog. In this example, I would write briefly about the history of engagement rings and rose gold. I would then go on to write about the qualities of rose gold, how it makes a good gemstone for engagement rings, and why people value it. In the same vein, you can cite its durability and low price as reasons people buy it.
At this point, you can suggest some affordable rose gold engagement rings on Amazon and the reader won’t even notice you are selling to them.
There are some factors you have to take into consideration while writing your articles. These include:
- Ensure your keyword appears in your title. Start the title with the main keyword if you can
- Make sure your main keyword appears in the first paragraph of your article. Preferably in the first sentence, you write in the article
- Let your keyword feature at least once in a subheading i.e. H2, H3, H4 tags
- Use your keyword in the alt text you use for at least one of the images in your post
- Let your keyword make up at least 0.5%-1% of the total text in the article
- Use synonyms of your keywords in the article too. The best way to do this is to use LSI keywords (Latent Semantic Indexing).
You can get the LSI keywords for your main keyword by using LSIGraph.com. It is a tool that generates related keywords search engine users use to find your type of content.
You want to throw some of these keywords/phrases in and around your article to make it appear natural to humans and search engines alike.
This will help rank your articles more easily and get an appreciable amount of search engine traffic.
These tips are not only applicable to micro-niche blogging but blogging in general.
Build Backlinks to the Blog
You just created your blog and nobody knows about it, so don’t expect anyone to link to you. Who links to a website they don’t know? So you need to get the word out.
You can get your first few backlinks by submitting your blog URL to hundreds of blogs and directories at the same time. The submission is processed automatically. You can use this FREE tool at www.freewebsubmission.com. You can also get some more from your Social Media accounts like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, and so on.
You can also use any other legitimate means you know to get backlinks to your blog and boost its SERP rankings. You can do more research on that because it would take a series of articles to create a guide for that.
Monetize your Micro-niche Blogging Website
There are several ways by which you can monetize your micro-niche blog.
You can join the Amazon.com Associate program and earn commissions when your readers click on the affiliate links that you promote under your product suggestion. If you sell on Amazon, you can also use it to drive traffic to your products on Amazon by creating a micro-niche blog for your product.
Amazon links are long and thus usually not human-readable. Also, it quickly brings it back into people’s consciousness that you are serving an affiliate link. I am not saying your readers do not have the right to know when they are being shown an affiliate link. You can declare this by including some disclaimer at the start of the article.
To shorten your affiliate links, I recommend Marketer Magic.
Marketer Magic is a software which is include everything from link shortener to email marketing, to email list check to pixels integration for Facebook is done by Kevin David you could check out more info if you want to know more about how it works.
You can also serve Google Adsense ads on your blog but this should be a sideshow. You run a micro-niche website, therefore, it usually doesn’t pay as much as affiliate commissions.
The best way to monetize when you are into micro-niche blogging is to rent spaces out. That is your online real estate, you can rent apartments out the way you want. This is especially gold for those who chose the service niche keyword option.
For example, if you built a site for “fashion schools in Manchester” and rank this keyword on the first page of Google, you can rent it to fashion schools in Manchester and charge them a monthly fee.
I know someone who does the same for a medical service — IVF clinics in XYZ city (I do not want to disclose). I learned this method from him. Therefore, I would not like to mention the keyword here. I do not create competitions for him.
I have to make that clear that it is not as simple as I made it appear. This involves time and some hard work. However, once you start ranking your pages, you can sit back and start earning money for as long as you rank.
Note that I only said you can sit back, not that you should sit back because I do not sit back. I plan to continue building more pages like this to continue creating more streams of income.
What should you do now? Don’t procrastinate! Take action and start micro-niche blogging!
