GetResponse Review: Pros and Cons

With E-mail marketing taking an edge over all other platforms in 2020, what is needed at this hour is a great email marketing service that blends professionalism with ease of use. GetResponse, a prime email marketing service with over 350,000 happy customers over two decades have been serving both small and large scale businesses on a daily basis right now.

With other forms of marketing, like social media marketing, are available today, the question is, Is GetResponse still relevant?

Having using GetResponse as the solo tool for my email-marketing needs, here’s what needs to be said.

System and Segmentation:

Unlike a lot of famous email marketing services, Get Response uses a tag and custom-field based system for managing its subscribers. One specific advantage of using the latter is the fact that you can assign a tag to a group with a specific custom field value in the Search Option within Search Contacts. It enables you to automate your marketing based on the relevant tags assigned to a particular subscriber. Using the automation tool enables you to create rules based on the behavior of a particular subscriber.

In case you want to manually add values you can do that too.

Landing page creation:

Get Response has the best landing page creator of all time. As a beginner, it was extremely easy to get a landing page for your campaigns.

In the earlier beta releases, few bugs were there but it has been solved with the 2020 edition. You can directly select the pre-made templates according to your niche and type of landing page required and you are good to go.

Email Editor

As with all other email marketing tools, GetResponse gets an email creator tool that lets you create messages from a predesigned set of templates. Another feature that comes to be quite handy is the ability to edit HTML code or even preview your messages before you send them to the subscriber. The Spam Checker Tool also helps in eliminating unwanted nuances.

After you are done with your message, you can broadcast it immediately to your selected contacts. If you want to send messages at a later time, you can do that too with the time travel feature of GetResponse. It contains tools that enable you to deliver messages by segregating them into timezones.

A/B Split Testing and RSS to Email

Although not deemed essential, these features of GetResponse are pretty unique to its taste as well. If you want, you can use it to run a series of tests to filter out the most ineffective messages and select the most effective ones and send them to your contacts. The A/B split mechanism helps you achieve it. It can be applied to newsletters or for creating variants in the email subjects and even the content inside an email.

Whenever you post a new article, the RSS feature that’s present notifies your blog audience via a message. It helps in more views and even more user engagement.

Final Verdict:

Boasting a plentiful of useful features that project it as the top email marketing tool, GetResponse stands out as one of the best email marketing services that are currently available.

The lack of refund on the long-term subscription plans is a bit sad in reality but it makes up with the economically priced short-term monthly plans. They also offer a 30-day free trial so that you can try the product for yourself before deciding to purchase it.

Irrespective of that, it’s really worth mentioning that GetResponse is an ideal solution irrespective of how small or large the marketing campaign is.
